The professional leagues of soccer are here to stay.
Why is soccer so popular and what are the benefits of playing this on going sport?
We sat down with Dale Moulton, the owner of Off The Wall Sports to learn more about the benefits of soccer.
Mr. Moulton started in soccer when his children played. His interest in soccer lead him to become the President of the soccer leagues for Lawrence Park. He also is the founder of Indy Revolution. Then in 1995 he opened Off The Wall, located at 1423 Chase Court in Carmel, Indiana
Off the Wall Sports speciality is indoor soccer, which is a bit of a different game in relation to outdoor soccer. The difference include:

Lisa and Geoff - An Exciting Day

What a fun day with Lisa and Geoff. The wedding was at Second Pres. which is just a beautiful church. There were A LOT of wedding party members, great friends to the bride and groom and the best flower girl and ring bearers that any bride could have - good job kids! The reception was then at the Woodstock Country Club, which is a beautiful facility. Geoff is a soccer coach and it was fun to see his team there to "cheer" him on. Lisa is a teacher and she had a number of her students there to enjoy the day and to help in the celebration - good job guys. Well, here is there fun day:

Wow, what a week!! It will take me a little while to get all the portraits and seniors caught up. But let me tell you about a really gorgeous wedding.

Bill and Krista were married at the Scottis Rite Cathedral - what a building! If you have not seen the Cathedral before you will definitely want to watch their slide show. The details in this building will take your breath away. A beautiful building inside and outside, in the middle of Indy and free parking - my favorite part.

We started in the entry way of the Cathedral and then went outside for some fun interactional photographs of Bill and Krista together - they were GREAT!! Then we came in for the groups and ceremony.

We were having a blast at the reception, the DJ who is also named Krista is a great DJ, I'll give you here contact info - you will want to call her. I loved the maid of honors toast - very funny. Then just as the light was almost gone, we went across the street with the wedding party, Bill and Krista and did some great city scapes and just have fun!

A fun day with Laura and Joe

Weddings are so much fun! We had a great time with Laura and Joe and Tabernacle Presbyterian church. What an amazing church, very old ornate structure, beautiful.
Joe and Laura were on time - yeah, so we had plenty of time to do some fun things outside with the two of them and then got some fun groups with the wedding party and family inside. The reception set up was great at the Montage. The Montage does a great job with the set up and great food as well. Everyone had a lot of fun and we have great photographs to show off as well. Bethany and Kevin, too much fun

We had a wonderful time with Bethany and Kevin. The day was a little windy which made it challenging to do outside photographs, but Jim managed to capture some amazing images of them. Bethany is such a fun person, just loved working with her! You could just tell that they are a great match and will have great fun throughout their lives together, and with their strong commitment to God it will be a long life together.

Heather and Chris Celebrate

Jim and I had an amazing time with Heather and Chris. The wedding was gorgeous at Second Presbyterian on Meridian Street. The florist was Palm Court Design and they did a great job decorating the church and the reception - the flowers smelled so wonderful. The reception was at the Eiteljorg Museum and I have not seen the museum look sooo amazing, the decorations where - words just don't describe, beautiful. The band was Endless Summer, which we were with them a couple of weeks ago - awesome. I realized what makes this band so unique, they don't take a break. Most bands play for 45 minutes then take a 15 minute break which drops down the guests participation. But these guys play continuously and the party has no breaks so everyone stays on the dance floor and just party more. How fun!!

Heather and Chris were so much fun to be with. Heather has the best laugh and you can just see that they are great together. Thanks guys for letting us share your special day with you.

A great day with David, ok a couple of days.

Jim and I had a great time celebrating with David at his Bar Mitzvah. We started on Friday at the Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation, known to many as IHC. Photographing him with his family and posing some of the ceremony poses, his great aunt from France was also there. Then we met him at his house for dinner for family, it was catered by JP - amazing food!! And I saw a friend from my high school years, Ann Marcott, she was helping JP.

Then the excitement of the next day - WOW. The party was at the Montage with a rain forest theme. It was really cool to walk across the hanging bridge to go into the party room. Dondo was the beginning entertainment - he is an amazing percussionist and played instruments that I have never heard of before. He told us that he has done the Mazda commercial - you know the "zoom, zoom" commercials, so now I listen for his percussion instruments when I see those commercials. Then us kids went to a different room with a DJ and had some fun - you will see the limbo photographs - they were good at it. Then we all joined back into the main room for some games with the adults and the DJ and there was a band in the next room with professional dancers that were awesome. The dancers were teaching others how to do different dances, a lot of the people were picking up the steps really fast.

Tea Party
I had the pleasure of attending the Carmel Arts Council Tea Party at the Ritz Charles. It was a beautiful event. Doreen Ficara is the executive director and she shared a lot of information about the beautiful silver items and tea sets that were displayed. The event is put together to raise scholarship money for four students majoring in the arts, they each receive a $1500 scholarship. They also had a very nice silent auction with some great items. A Beautiful Chicago Wedding
We had the pleasure of spending a Friday afternoon with Andrew and Joanna in Chicago. We went up the night before to make sure everything was OK for us getting there, there is always the fear that what do you do if the car breaks down or something like that, so we always cushion our travel time. We stopped to have lunch at Ginos and Georgettes which is across the street from the church (323 W. Illinois) amazing great Italian food - really amazing!

We met the groom at the church first, his family was helping set up the last of the decorations, it was a beautiful church so it didn't require much. Assumption Catholic Church, it is the oldest Italian church in Chicago - WOW. It was beautiful. After a very personal ceremony with both family traditions brought together, the groom is from the Philippians we did the photographs of everyone after the ceremony. We went to the little court yard by the church - that is where Andrew proposed to Joanna, so it was a special spot for them. Then we were off to the reception at the Inter Continental Hotel. As you will see by the slide show below - it is beautiful as well.

It was a lot of fun, some very touching toasts by the best man and the made of honor. I photographed the best mans wedding 12 years ago, he and his wife have the beautiful flower girl and the handsome ring bearer in the wedding. But a great party! A Fashion Show
I ended my day yesterday at the WINK Fashion Show. WINK is a networking organization for women sponsored by National City. They had booths with great jewelry, skin care, eye care, clothing and then there was also me - photography. The clothes in the fashion show were really great. My favorites were Weekenders, Tom James and Mary & Martha's. Below is a short show to give you the idea of the fun we had. Watch for it next year.

An early start to the day - but well worth it
I started the morning with a Carmel Chamber networking breakfast. It was hosted by Kiss Z Cook - amazing food!! Kiss Z Cook is located at 116th and Guilford and they give cooking classes - how fun. You can sign up for a series of classes and learn some great ways of cooking. The manager said that more than half of those in classes are men, isn't that interesting? Some of the other people that I met:

I met two different movers. Hogan Transfer, which use to be Mayflower. They have a system called SAM in which they bring a very large container to you and you can fill it up at your leisure then they can either store the container or move it to your new location where you can unload it at your leisure, sounds convenient, more info at http://www.hotanmoving.com. The other moving company was Two Men and A Truck - love that name. They are now expanding into commercial moving and have moved their location to Fishers - check them out at www.twomenandatruck.com.

I met two hair designers. Leslie from Bekah's which is located at 12545 Old Meridian Street and Mindy from Fine Lines located at 811 West Main Street. Both very nice ladies, sorry no websites to give you.

Joseph Lesczynski was there from the Fountains which is a banquet and conference center at 502 East Carmel Drive. He said that they are redecorating parts of the facility, that will be pretty to see, more info at www.fountainscatering.com.

United Way had a representative there Lisa Davidhizar. She shared with us some of the great things that they are doing. One thing that I thought was very giving is they have volunteers that go into the public school system and help students with their reading. If children can't read by the time they are in fourth grade they have a greater percentage of not graduating from high school. There are many other organizations that they help to see visit www.uwci.org.

I met Travis Neal from Sign A Rama they can make any type of sign that you need from business cards on up. Jim was there from the Mystery Company, which is a book store that specializes in mystery books, they have a lot of fun reading events, and he said a study shows that those who actively read are happier and easier to work with - that' interesting. Chris Barnthouse was also there from Northwestern Mutual, he was also making sure that everyone knew about the upcoming play for Carmel High School - 42nd Street on May 8, 9, and 10 at 7:30 and 10 and 11 at 2:00, tickets start at $8, so mark your calendar.

Then my friend Terri Nix was also there from The Basket Case, they do all kinds of gift baskets - really great gift baskets!! She will be at the Indianapolis Baby Fair coming up - so if you are going to that make sure to stop by and see her.

Fun with seniors and future seniors
We had a friends party and invited the class of 2008 and 2009 to come by and have a photograph taken with their friends. We saw some familiar people, met some new friends and just had fun. A Fun Sunday
I just finished the slide show for Sheryl and Mark who had a beautiful Sunday wedding. The bride's gown was from Demetrios, it was lovely, such beautfiul details on her gown. The flowers were designed by Coby Palmer (253-7160) which were great designs and wonderful color together. The reception was at The Montage at Allison Pointe, they went all out on the set up and the service was amazing. The wedding coordinator was Theresa Gift at Eventful Planning and she did a great job making sure everything ran very smoothly, very smoothly! Then the band - how fun this is - the band was Endless Summer and one of the band members is Brian England, we did Brians wedding back in 1984ish. He called his wife, Julie on the phone so we could say hi to here, it was great to see him! And the band really keep things rocking. Everyone had a great time!!

White River Gardens Bridal Show

I had the pleasure of being invited to the paritcipate and photograph the bridal show for the White River Gardens - it is a beautiful location even on these days when the flowers aren't blooming yet. I Have Returned

Just returned from a photography class. The teacher was Jen Heninga from Minnesota. It was a good class, a professional always goes back to the basics and expands on them. It was great to see some of the top photographers in our state at this school, it shows who really cares about our profession. Photographers like Dave and Ann Patnaude from South Bend, Janell Spencer from Bloomfield, Stan Gurka from Noblesville, Jim Garber from the Terre Haute area, John Wright from Indianapolis and myself and my wonderful husband Jim. There were others, but those were the ones that came to mind right away.

Jim took a class on creative photography and my class was on portraiture. It's good to go back and it is great to spend time with top photographers and brainstorm ideas with each other. But then there is that issue of coming back - so much to catch up on.

One of the important things I made sure to do upon returning was to finish little Caleigh's portraits. She came in just before I left for class, isn't she just adorable!! You can tell she is only a few days old. I also had the honor of creating her announcement - let me know what you think of these.

Another convention and Jim ran away with the big awards - again. He received four merits out of four prints - which is quite an achievement, then he was also in the top 10 photographers for the region. The most prestigious award that he received at this convention is the Canon award, for this award the judges put out the top photographers and then together discussed the group of work and choose the photographer that they felt had the most qualified entries as a whole. What a compliment!! Plus he won a camera with this award - that's better than a plaque!

An AMAZING wedding!
Hello, hello! Jim and I photographed a beautiful wedding at the Indiana Roof. What an amazing building the Roof is, a building that all hoosiers should be proud of. If you have never seen the Roof before, you should go up there sometime just to see the uniqueness of the docor - really pretty. Then there was the beautiful bride and the handsome groom that just made the evening so much fun. The flowers were done by Jim Holland, the caterer was Crystal Catering and the bride's dress and bridesmaids dresses were all by Demetrios. I created a custom baby announcement for Erica, for her third child, but it was fun to include the other two childrent and to show the relationship of the three children together. I really liked these announcements and it was fun to create.

I also had the opportunity to create a PR portrait for Dr. Chivarri for their website and advertising and Chad came by for his updated portrait. Chad was great, he is a guy with a lot of personality. Then I also photographed the Simply She event. If you missed it - bummer! They had a lot of great booths that catered to women, a lot of fun stuff and there was also a fashion show for jewelry that was beautiful and put together by Moyers Fine Jewelry.

A Professional Photographers group at our house
What an exciting past couple of days. Jim is the current president of the Professional Photographers of Indiana and we hosted a two day seminar at our Country Harmony location. We had about 87 photographers from Indiana and Illinois join us for the two day event. Special guest speakers were Nancy Bailey from Anderson who showed everyone how to light and pose family portraits and Rich Voorhees from Logansport who showed how to pose and light high school seniors. The Country Harmony location was perfect for the seminar with almost 1o acres of groomed for photography sittings.

Rock the District
"Rock the District" was a blast. If you missed this event yesterday - you missed a lot!!!! We had a great time at the gallery with free cake, moonwalk and a fun time dunking the football players from CHS. I think the football players had the most fun. Thanks to Kyle and his friends for offering to spend the afternoon getting wet.

I had the honor of introducing Sara Scarbrough, a wonderful hoosier performer. There were great bands at both locations as well as many street performers.

My son and his girlfriend helped me out by watching the booth while I ran around watching many other things.

Then there was Jon, which you can see by the photographs below had a terrific crowd and an amazing performance.

Thank you to all of you who attending, your support was wonderful. Watch for any upcoming events in the "Arts District".

4th of July
What a great parade on the 4th of July. Carmel really is supportive of all the people who can be in a parade. Kids, cars, flags, firemen, floats. Just a lot of fun. We gave away free popcorn, until the popcorn machine decided to stop working - bummer. But it was still fun. The big "Rock the District" event is tomorrow. There will be so much fun - you have got to be there.

High School Seniors

Well, here is a surprise for you - once again I am behind in my blogging. It has been such a busy month with high school seniors that I just can't keep up. It happens that I have a break right now because my appointment rescheduled. But, over time I will catch you up with all the great seniors that have been in.

Like Nico - what a great guy, his girlfriend is sweet too. Nico goes to Fishers, which this will be the first graduating class for the NEW Fishers High School. Well, think of all the trends they get to set, the first class. Nico is also a football player, his mom is really nice too. This a new thing for us this year. After having your senior portraits taken I am creating a sneak peak album, what that basically means is that the link to the album is sent to the senior before they come in to view all of the poses. So, the album doesn't have everything, just our favorites.

Always trying something new, that's how we grow. Jim photographed Bobbi Jo who is graduating this year from Ben Davis - go BD. I'm a BD grad as well. One of our labs has a new viewing program available to us that I think is a lot of fun. I went to a Carmel Chamber meeting at the new Center Park. What an amazing place. There is a water park, a skateboard park, indoor waterslides, a banquet facility that can seat 220 guest, rows and rows of exercise equipment, exercise rooms, art rooms, so much! One of the cool things is there is a computer system attached to the exercise equipment and you type in your code and then the computer will keep track of your workouts - just what I want, a machine to tell me to do four more crunches.

It is a beautiful place - so you should stop by and see it.

A great time was held at the Oak Hill Mansion last night. The first fund raiser for the International Talent Academy brought alot of big names to one place. Several of the talented students of Irina Gorin performed a concert as well as several guest speakers including our very own Mayor Brainard. The mc's were Jennifer Campbell an actress you may have seen in Seinfeld, Fraiser, Boy Meets World and Baywatch and Ray Compton who has been Vice President of marketing for Indiana Pacers, President of the Indianapolis Ice Hockey Team, Vice President of Marketing for the Colts and currently President of Compton Strategies. Although we did donate a portrait and sitting to the silent auction the eye catcher was the autographed football by the champion team - Colts.

What an amazing time we had last night! It was our gallery open house for the high school gallery show. We are featuring 28 high school students' work in the gallery through May 31. It looks really great. The students are very talented. Two school are participating Carmel and Park Tudor and last night we had over 300 people come by to see their work. Many images sold - which is even more exciting for the students. It was hot in the gallery with that many people here, but they were patient and drank a lot of water. Some of the students also brought cookies and snacks to share - which were very good. Here are some photos of the fun. The last photograph is two of the photography teachers from Carmel, Sarah and Kevin - they look pleased, wouldn't you say?

We had a great weekend. One of the things we had the opportunity to do is go to Kokomo and watch a play performed by homeless people. It was really great! The play was about being happy with what you have - interesting story coming from homeless actors. Then after the play the actors shared their true story. It was very interesting because I often thought of homelessness being caused by drugs or alcohol, in which there was that story. But some of them were homeless because of medical issues and the young lady in the play is homeless because she is trying to escape an abusive situation. They were really a great group of people, and you could tell that they were a family.

The little guy is Sam. He is a volunteer - not one of the homeless.

What a day!! I started with a meeting for the upcoming event in the Art's District - it's going to be great! We are putting together a celebration of the arts. So far we have a few school choirs performing, a couple of school bands and orchestras, a couple of college bands and the big name - John McGloglin. He is an up and coming big star. He just signed a national recording contract and he lives in the arts district and will be perfoming for our event. So, mark your calendars for May 19th, you will want to be there.

Then I had a meeting with a landscaper to talk about what to do with the front of our building - to make it look so much nicer. He has a lot of great ideas, it will be fun to see them in drawings.

From to a PWG luncheon, that the Professional Wedding Guild. We had a great lunch at Holly Hock.

Got back to the studio in time to photograph our next little model of the month for Little Women. He is a cute little boy and an adorable outfit from the store.

Finished there in time to meet with our marketing coach, who had some great things for us to think about for the rest of the year.

That was about all I could get packed into one day.

I think I need a nap.

Then ran to a PWG luncheon meeting. That's the Professional Wedding Guild. The meeting was at Holly Hock, which is a great place for a small reception or a wedding rehearsal.

Returned to the gallery just in time to photograph our next little model for Little Women's store. He was a cutie and an adorable outfit from the store.

Then I met with our marketing coach, who had some great ideas for the next quarter.

It has been a long day. I don't think I could of packed anything else into this day.

I went to a Carmel Chamber meeting this morning which was about interns. Did you know that some of the high schools offer an internship program. I thought that was great. It could give you the chance to try out a career before you go to college and commit to that direction. Now because it was a Carmel Chamber they did give us the contact person for Carmel high schools intern organizer, it is Joy Law. But I would think that if you check with the office if your school offers an internship they could direct you to who to contact. Just in time for summer jobs.

We are hosting a photographer from California and today she taught a class to professional photographers. Back from the convention - finally
We just returned from the Professional Photographers of America's convention in Texas. It took a while to get there - because of weather and we had a hard time getting home - because of weather. What would be considered a fair winter day for us was a disaster for the Texans. We finally decided to rent a far and drive to Corpus Christi to catch a flight home because they couldn't get any planes out of San Antonio. It was a great trip - other than the weather. We found some great new products for weddings and we are very excited about the new options for the 2007 bride. We have new albums, new proof books, new jewelry and the list goes on. Maybe we should have an open house to invite all the class of 2008 to see the new things available to them. We will have to take a look at the calendar - I'll let you know the date.

But Kyle got lucky. The weather cleared up and he was able to get the whole session in. Klye is a great guy. I remember sitting with Kyle and his mom at the YMCA while siblings were taking swimming lessons, and I think that was before Kyle was in school. Another fun day of great seniors. Jim started the day with Jeremiah. Jim actually photographed Jeremiah before he was born. That got you thinking. We did a maternity portrait of his mother and now we are photographing his senior portraits. We met Jeremiah's father when we had our studio close to Greenwood and he came in for a business PR portrait and we have been capturing memories for his family every since. How fun.
